$How should I format my score before my session?
Format your score within the following parameters:
- We print scores on 18”x12” 70lb. paper, and parts on 9”x12”, 70lb. paper.
- Score – staff size: 3.5-4.8mm; margins: 14.82mm
- Parts – staff size: 7mm; margins: 14.82mm
- All scores should be non-transposing scores in C to make reading more efficient from cue to cue.
- Bar numbers in the score should be centered below the bottom stave on every bar
- For clarity and reference, parts should have the name of the part and cue as a header on every page.
- We also recommend that large, full system time signatures be used to clearly indicate meter to the conductor at a glance.
- Page turns should be avoided as much as possible so there’s less chance of noise and drop outs from the players. However, if more than two pages is necessary, please consider formatting so that page turn doesn’t require quick movements.
- We use a 2-bar count-in so the score should start bar 3 or upbeat to bar 3.

$What settings do I use for the score’s Pro Tools files?
Stems, click track, MIDI should be packaged in a Pro Tools file/folder zip file with the following session settings:
- 48Khz, 24-bit
- Clear all IO settings prior to sending
- Format bar numbers to conform to score guidelines (see SCORE PREP)
- Provide Mock-up and stems (all aligned) in proper placement on grid
- Click track should be printed using a non-accented “UREI” click sound
- If cue has substantial tempo changes, it’s recommended to print subsequent ‘takes’ in the click track playlist in the new tempo with the two bars of countoff similar to the beginning of the cue. Do this for every significant tempo change.
